What forms of payment do you accept?
|
| At this time, we accept cash, checks, VISA and MasterCard. Cash
should be placed in a sealed envelope with the student's name on the outside.
Checks with a different last name on the account should include the student
name in the memo line. There is a 2.5% processing fee for credit card
payments. |

Why is there never anyone in the office?
|
| Once again, to keep studio administrative costs down, we do not
hire “office staff.” This translates into lower tuition costs and registration
fees for you. Tuition payments may be dropped into the mailbox in the lobby.
Miss Stephanie will contact you when discrepancies or account issues arise. It
is very important that you keep your contact information up to date. We
encourage you to communicate with your teacher, and/or Miss Stephanie anytime
you have questions or concerns. You may leave us a message at the studio, or
via email, if we are unavailable on the day of your class. No question is too
small, or silly, and we are always open to your comments and suggestions! |

What is the ICDL?
|
| The Indianapolis Children’s Dance League is a special performance
company of young dancers housed by The Dance Company. The ICDL was founded and
is directed by Diane Gudat. Miss Stephanie was a previous member and now
assists Miss Diane. The Company is comprised of intermediate and advanced level
students ranging in age from 7-18. There are several different subdivisions of
this group, including the Main Company, Apprentice Company, Training Company
and the Rising Stars. Many studios have “competition teams.” The ICDL does
participate in competition, however, the main focus of the group is to provide
a pre-professional dance training and performance experience. The ICDL is a
non-profit organization, meaning costs are met through fundraising and parent
and staff volunteer efforts. If you are interested in becoming part of this
group, see your teacher for requirements and details. |

What is ISDC?
|
| The Indiana State Dance Championships is a dance
competition/festival hosted by The Dance Company. It was founded and directed
initially by Miss Diane, and is now directed by Miss Stephanie. We host this
competition to create a fun, welcoming and positive competition experience for
our students as well as those from other studios. We use this event each year
as an opportunity to give as many of our dancers as possible a chance to get on
stage and dance! If you have not already been a participant, look out for this
event in the future! |
|
|
What performance opportunities do you provide?
|
| We have an annual recital each year the first weekend of June.
There is no recital fee. We sell tickets at the door to cover production costs.
Throughout the rest of the year, other performance opportunities may be made
available. These can include a December Ballet, ISDC, trips to neighborhood
events and locations such as the mall, nursing homes, street fairs and
festivals and other local events that may arise. |

How do I get a solo?
|
| Solos are given to students at the discretion of the faculty.
Decisions on solo style, music and content are left completely up to the
teacher. Solo work is a special privilege and responsibility, requiring extra
time, practice and fees. Dancing alone on stage is not for everyone. If you are
interesting in solo work, see your teacher to discuss your dancer’s options. |
|
|
Do you offer private or semi-private lessons?
|
| Private lessons are done at the discretion of the faculty and are
dependent upon studio space and staff availability. If you are interested in
private lessons for your dancer, contact us. |
|
|
Do you sell shoes and dancewear?
|
| The Dance Company now offers you the option to order your shoes and
dancewear through us at discounted retail prices. We can fit your dancer right
here! See Miss Stephanie for details. |
