Indiana State Dance Championships
ISDC is an annual event that has been offering a unique and refreshing competitive experience for more than thirty years. We hope you will add us to your competition calendar and join us this year! We will be at Lutheran High School on February 18th, 2012.
Competition Forms
What Makes ISDC Special?
Costuming
We are a NO COSTUME competition. Please carefully read the Rules & Regulations concerning appropriate attire and adhere to these rules. Infractions will cause point deductions. This simplified approach gives judges and performers a rare opportunity to focus on technical mastery and physical artistry. Many participating choreographers praise our event as a chance to see their work on stage early in the competition season before other costumed events.
Jazz Master Class
ISDC strives to offer a competitive experience that is both rewarding and educational. This is why we offer a Jazz Master Class with one of our judges on stage during the event. I hope your students will participate, as this opportunity to take class should prove to be a fun and enriching experience!
Qualified & Knowledgable Judges
ISDC is proud to provide a panel that is made up of fellow dance educators who are also experienced competition judges. They understand the challenges faced by dancers and instructors, in a studio setting, at the various stages of development. You will find their comments to be insightful and constructive. When scoring each entry, our judges will take into account technique, performance quality, choreographic elements, age level and appropriateness, and their overall impression. Judges comments are recorded onto CDs and are available for pick up by studio directos at the end of the event.
Overall Titile Competition
Four Overall Titles for soloists will be awarded throughout the weekend. These titles will be named at the completion of each solo division and are determined by the combined scores from two solos in different dance disciplines. Male and female dancers can compete in the appropriate age groups. There is no additional entry charge to participate in our overall competition.
