Alyssa McPherson

Alyssa McPherson (TDC alum 2005) currently directs the Performing Arts Medicine and Military Medicine Programs at Indiana University while working as a clinical athletic trainer. She is also pursuing her PhD in Human Performance and Motor Learning & Control, where her line of research evaluates the epidemiology of performing arts injuries and assesses prevention & screening strategies. Previously, Alyssa completed her bachelors degree in athletic training at Purdue University, her post-professional masters degree in AT at Indiana University (while serving as the primary AT to the IU Ballet Theatre), and a surgical AT residency at Emory Sports Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

Alyssa tries to keep her personal dancing roots alive through salsa, kizomba, and swing dancing, with the random ballet class here and there. She credits so much of her success, work ethic, and overall passion to the wonderful start she got at TDC.
